We Drew Ourselves follows Asha, a young woman adjusting to life with a spinal cord injury, inside a rehabilitation center in Bangalore. There, she meets others like her Meera, Rajat, Karthik, and Anuradha each navigating care, identity, and relationships on their own terms.

 

Based on real interviews and immersive research, this graphic novel tells a powerful, intimate story about disability, interdependence, and everyday strength. We Drew Ourselves doesn’t offer easy answers but it does offer something better: honesty, connection, and a new way of seeing.
